One of the most popular online ESL teaching jobs out there is VIPKID.  Their website and many teachers report earnings of $14- $22 and hour.  They promote the fact they provide incredible flexibility in scheduling.  By becoming an online ESL teacher with lupus, you get the luxury of working from home or anywhere else that you want.  Working from home with lupus has never been easier!

With VIPKID you can set your own schedule and work as few or as many hours as you’d like.  VIPKID also has perks in the fact that they provide the lesson plans and communicate with the parents. You just need a computer and the passion and skills for teaching online. VIPKID currently has over 60,000 teachers on their online platform.  VIPKID is very strict on applicants’ education level and requires applicants to have at least a Bachelor’s degree.  So please understand, you need to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree to apply or they will not even consider your application.

 

2. Qkids

Qkids is another great online platform that hires native english speakers to work as online ESL teachers.  They connect over 300,000 young Chinese learners with teachers from all across the world.  They require their teachers to have at least a Bachelor’s degree as well.  They are also a little more strict on scheduling, but the minimum amount of hours you must work is at least 6 (which constitutes to 12 lessons).  They pay their teachers around $8 base pay for full lessons. $4 base pay for standby lessons (approximately 10 minutes with no teaching required).

They also offer incentive like eligibility for $1 Performance Fee for each lesson based on family review. $1 Attendance Bonus for each lesson once a minimum of 15 lessons are taught in a week.

What are teacher requirements?

  • Eligible to legally work in the U.S. or Canada
  • Currently reside in the U.S. or Canada (due to the internet restriction)
  • Earned a Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Able to teach 6+ hours weekly
  • Prior teaching experience or equivalent in education, tutoring, mentoring, or homeschooling
  • English teaching certificates (TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, etc) is highly preferred
  • Digital literacy and the ability to lead an engaging learning atmosphere
  • Technical requirements: a computer with stable internet connection and clear audio/video capacity

3. Italki

Italki is an online language learning platform that currently has over 10,000 teachers in a variety of languages.  The great thing about Italki is that you do not have to have a Bachelor’s degree to sign up as one of their online tutors.  You get to set your own rate and Italki makes money by taking 15% commission from what you charge.  You can also sign up as a professional teacher, but this requires you to have a degree or some sort of TEFL certification that must be uploaded.  It is a great online job for people with lupus because you can choose whenever you want to work online.  If you do not have a degree and want to start working from home with lupus, Italki may be one of our best bets.

Cambly is another great online platform that does not require a Bachelor’s degree or any teaching experience for that matter.  On Cambly, you get to chat with people from around the world! Cambly is great because you can choose your own schedule top work online, which is really helpful to those with lupus.  You make your own hours. Work as little or as much as you want. You can log online whenever you have a free moment and start taking calls within minutes!  They pay around $10.20 hour and you get paid every Monday by Paypal.  Cambly is a great way to work from home with lupus!
